Kevin Newman is one of Canada’s most respected broadcast journalists, with more than four decades of experience reporting and anchoring for CBC, CTV, ABC News in the United States, and as the founding anchor and executive editor of Global National, which grew into Canada’s top national newscast under his leadership.
Over the course of his career he has covered major global stories, including wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the death of Princess Diana, and other high-impact international events, earning multiple Gemini, Emmy, and Peabody awards for his reporting and anchoring. After leaving Global National in 2010, he focused on digital transformation in news, founding NewMan Media and later serving as Bell Media’s “Digital News Evangelist” while hosting CTV News Question Period and leading the investigative program W5 as host and managing editor. Today he has emerged as a leading Canadian voice on misinformation and fact-checking. Kevin also co-authored the memoir All Out with his son Alex, is an honorary Doctor of Laws from Western University, and has served on the board of Communitech, bringing together his experience in journalism, technology, and public communication to advise organizations on narrative, media strategy, and digital-era risk.
