AJ Garuna is a career Investigator and Analyst, with a wide-array of experience in litigious matters, including, insurance and commercial fraud, regulatory compliance monitoring, corporate intelligence, and covert field operations. AJ is a licensed Investigator in the Province of Ontario and has lead engagements from both the public and private sectors, including, acting as a Senior Consultant to a ‘BIG4’ Corporate Intelligence team.

AJ delivers efficiency and effectiveness by implementing processes in a vertically integrated manner, wherein, the best of public-sector processes seamlessly integrate with corporate best practices. Having handled various types of intelligence, including, OSINT, SOCMINT, and HUMINT, AJ understands the importance of a tailored fusion-centre to meet corporate needs.

As a specialized undercover operative within the transportation sector, AJ holds a tractor-trailer (AZ) and commercial bus (C) class licenses. AJ has worked in various jurisdictions – both in the field and in disseminating relevant intelligence – including, North America, Latin America, Europe, India, and Hong Kong. AJ speaks the Tamil language with native-fluency and has lead various engagements involving the Tamil-Canadian community.

AJ holds a Honours Bachelor Degree in Criminology & Socio-legal Studies from the University of Toronto, a Honours Diploma in Investigations, Public & Private from Sheridan College, and is a candidate for a Masters of Science in Security and Risk Management from the University of Leicester. AJ has also obtained a professional designation as a Certified Fraud Examiner and a Level 1 Certificate in Interview and Interrogation Techniques from Wicklander-Zulwaski and Associates. AJ has completed the National Investigator and Inspector Training with the Council on Licensure, Enforcement, & Regulation (“CLEAR”), and the Workplace Investigations Certificate with the Human Resources Professionals Association (“HRPA”) – enhancing his core competencies as it relates to regulatory authorities, fraud accounting, workplace investigations, research methodology, audit standards, statistical analysis, and trauma-informed interview techniques. 

AJ is the lead on all ‘priority one’ engagements and oversees niche-specific (i.e. Trucking industry) Field Operations.
